SARK UCS/MVP Clusters (Multi Tenancy Support)

About Clusters.

The clusters panel allows the user to set up a managed office or groups of similar telephones or users with differing privileges. This allows the possibility of more than one company to run on the same switch. Each cluster can have its own trunk(s)/account(s), and so be billed separately. Also, by default clusters are barred from calling each other internally across the switch. However, it is possible to relax this rule. For example, it is possible to set up the system so that cluster A can call cluster B and cluster C. Cluster B can call cluster A, but cluster C cannot call cluster A or cluster B and so on.

In the case when the switch is being used for a single cluster, the user does not need to define anything. In this case the default cluster is used. The default cluster is created as part of the initial SARK/SAIL installation.

In the case when the switch is being used for more than one company or group of users, a cluster should be created for each company or group. Also, the user should define which clusters can call each other internally. The user should define an operator for each cluster. This can either be the System Operator defined in the globals panel or an extension within the cluster. This parameter is used by the Operator and Voicemail options in trunks, IVR menus and alias outcomes.
