Alias Edit Panel Variables

Alias number

Description - Alias number.
Permissable values - any unused one thru four digit number (1-9999).
Default - Required
Note - Aliases are virtual extensions and share the same key structure as real (physical) extensions. Asterisk itself is not aware that it is processing for a real or virtual extension (alias), only the AGI knows this and routes the call accordingly. Because of this, an alias can NOT have the same number as a real physical extension. For this reason, and for features planned for a future SAIL release, we recommend that you adopt a numbering plan which gives a very clear separation between aliases and physical extensions. For example, if your physical extensions occupy the 5000 range then your aliases might occupy the 7000 range to avoid confusion.

Group Type

Description - Drop down.
Permissable values - {Ring|Hunt|Page}.

Note 2 - If aliases with conflicting group-type rules are specified in the same string (e.g. ring/hunt), then they will all inherit the group-type of the first alias in the string.

Description - Which Cluster this Alias is a member of.
