SARK UCS/MVP Change Extension Panel

_SARK UCS/MVP _ Change Extension Panel is the place where extension instances are modified.

Extension:

Description - Extension Number of this phone. The system will pre-allocate a number into this field for you but you may override it.
Permissable values - Any number provided it is not already in use somewhere else in the system.
default - System provided (recommended value).

MAC Address:

Description MAC Address of the physical unit
Permissable values - any valid MAC address; this should be typed as an unbroken hexadecimal string (no dots between the bytes) e.g. 00b8416a1498.
default - None.
Note 1 - If this field is included AND you have the tftp server running (see DocChapter06 and DocChapter254) AND you have included provisioning data (either manually or inherited from the device) then SAIL will automatically generate the configuration file(s) and store it(them) onto the tftp server for pickup by the actual phone/device when it next reboots.
Note 2 - For Aastra phones (9112i, 9133i, 480i), the MAC address is case sensitive so you must enter all alpha characters in upper case.

User to receive email notification:

Description - email address used to notify users that a voicemail has been received.
Permissable values - Any valid email address.
default - None.

Call Permissions:

Description - Whether this extension is allowed to make external calls or not
Permissable values - internal/external.
default - external.

Phone location:

Description - Whether this uses symmetrical RTP or not and whether it connects to the internal (Public) IP address or the external (Private) IP address of the PBX. This will all be reflected in the phones remote provisioning (if the phone supports it and MAC Address has been provided)
Permissable values - local/remote.
default - local.

Registrar for remote phones:

Description - Registrar URI or IP Address
Permissable values - Regular URI or dotted quadrant.
default - None.
Note - This should be the external URI or IP Address of your SARK box. For remote operation to work you MUST run your SARK Server at an external (Private) IP Address (i.e in Server-gateway mode).

Cluster:

Description - Which Cluster this phone is a member of.
Permissable values - Any value from the dropdown.
default - default cluster.

Voicemail on this phone:

Description - Voicemail control.
Permissable values - Dropdown {YES|NO}.
default - YES

Outbound CLID.

Description - CLID to present on outbound calls.
Permissable values - Any numeric string.
Default - Empty.
Note - May not be honoured by the carrier. Consult your local calling regulations and carrier.

Alert-Info.

Description - Value to load into the SIP Header immediately before the dial.
Permissable values - Any string.
Default - Empty.
Note - There is no standard for Alert-Info strings. Consult your phone manufacturer's documentation for your specific device range.

Freeform "friend" field

Description - scrolling window of SIP/IAX.conf tuples.
Permissable values - Base entries are copied from the Device definition. The system automatically substitutes username and password with the corresponding items for this extension. Any valid SIP or IAX user/peer tuple(s) may be added or modified. Each tuple should be terminated with a single carriage return. The tuples are NOT validated by the system and it is the user's responsibility to ensure that they are correct. You should refer to the necessary Asterisk documentation before you attempt to make changes to this field.
Default - System provided
Note - It is not usually necessary to change these entries. As a general rule you should attempt to run without modifications unless/until you can prove othewise.
N.B. The example in the screenshot is not good because it uses a password(secret) the same as the extension number. This is very dangerous and should be avoided. SARK/SAIL will automatically provide a strong password for you when you create an extension.

Freeform Provisioning field

Description - scrolling window of phone specific provisioning relations & tuples.
Permissable values - Base entries are copied from the Device definition. The system automatically substitutes $system values with the corresponding items for this extension. Any valid relations or tuple(s) can be added or modified. Each tuple should be terminated with a single carriage return. The tuples are NOT validated by the system and it is the user's responsibility to ensure that they are correct. You should refer to the relevant manufacturer's SIN documentation and the provisioning "how to" in the appendices before you attempt to make changes to this field.
Default - System provided
Note - The base entries will provision your device to the point where it can make and take calls. Further tailoring may be achieved by adding/modifying relations & tuples (see individual manufacturer's SIN documentation for details).

Call-Forward state fields

Description - fields showing the current call forward settings for each of the 6 main CFWD types .
Permissable values - Any valid system destination (including external numbers).
Default - Empty
Note 1 - Changes to these fields will be reflected immediately into the target phone as soon as a save is executed (provided the unit is on-line). These changes will not be regressed should the regression key be pressed.
Note 2 - You may notice the absence of CFIMVM (Call forward immediate to voicemail, sometimes called DND, or Do Not Disturb). This is implemented in SARK by a CFIM to self. For example, if you are editing extension 5003, then to set it to CFIMVM, or DND, simply enter 5003 into the CFIM field.
