SARK UCS/MVP Carriers Panel
SARK UCS/MVP _ Carriers Panel is the place where carrier templates are declared.
Most of these definitions are pre-provided for you as part of the SARK/SAIL V2.1 installation. However, if you add new entries we would kindly ask that you share them with other SAIL users by either leaving details on this wiki or by e-mailing your new Carrier details and set-up information to _admin@selintra.com.
Technology: Dropdown
Description - Defines the transport technology used by this line.
Permissable values - "SIP", "IAX2" and "Analog".
default - SIP
Note - Analogue (FXO) lines are auto detected. You cannot manually declare an Analogue line.
Carrier Type: Dropdown
Description - Specifies what
kind of carrier this is.
Permissable values - "VOIP", "Gateway", "Sibling".
default - VOIP
Note -
VOIP should be specified for all standard VOIP carriers such as Voipjet, FWD, etc.
Gateway should be specified for the FXO channel on VOIP/Analogue ATA's, such as the Sipura spa3000 and equivalents.
Sibling should be used to specify SARK or SAIL nodes which are operating, either locally or remotely, in the same group. Although it is generally easier to specify IAX2 as the technology type for Sibling Trunks, particularly for remote nodes, there is no reason why they cannot be specified with SIP (provided you understand and compensate for any firewall issues). There is at least one measurement exercise which suggests that SIP is a more efficient choice for LAN connected siblings.
MD5 Encryption: Dropdown
Description - Specifies whether this carrier supports MD5.
Permissable values - "NO", "YES".
default - NO
Carrier Name:
Description - Specify a unique name for this carrier.
Permissable values - Any valid Alphanumeric string .
Default - Required
Host URL:
Description - URL or IP Address of this carrier.
Permissable values - Any valid URL or dotted quadrant.
Default - None
Note - You should leave this field blank if this is a Gateway or Sibling
Registration Template:
Description - Registration string template.
Permissable values - A valid registration string with the keywords
username and
password if required. These keywords will be automatically replaced by the actual username and password when the trunk(s) is/are instantiated.
Default - None
Note - You should leave this field blank if this is a Gateway or Sibling
Example - Engin BYO has a registration string that looks a little like this;
02321XXXX:<
>@byo.engin.com.au/02321XXXX
For Registration you should code it as
username:password@byo.engin.com.au/username
Press SAVE to commit your new carrier to the database.
